Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean when my airbag warning light stays on?
An airbag (SRS) light that stays on means the system has detected a fault and the airbags may not deploy in a crash. Common causes include a faulty clock spring, seat belt pretensioner, sensor or wiring connector. We scan the system to find the exact fault code.
Is it safe to drive with the SRS light on?
The car will still drive, but your airbags and seat belt pretensioners may not work if you have an accident. We recommend booking an inspection as soon as you can so the safety system is restored.
Can you reset the airbag light after a repair?
Yes. Once the faulty component has been repaired or replaced, we clear the stored fault codes with our diagnostic equipment and confirm the system passes its self-test. Simply clearing the light without fixing the cause is not something we do.
Do you inspect seat belts as part of a safety system check?
Yes. We check seat belt webbing, buckles, retractors and pretensioners along with the airbag system, because they work together to protect you in a collision.
