How do I know my car air conditioning needs a regas?
If the air coming from your vents is not as cold as it used to be, takes longer to cool the cabin, or the system blows warm air on hot days, it is likely low on refrigerant. Our technicians check the system pressure and look for leaks before regassing so the problem does not come straight back.
Is your workshop licensed to work on car air conditioning?
Yes. Armstrong Creek Motors holds an ARC refrigerant handling licence (AU55951), which is required in Australia to recover, recharge and repair automotive air conditioning systems safely and legally.
Why is my car air conditioning making a bad smell?
A musty smell usually comes from mould or bacteria building up on the evaporator and in a blocked cabin filter. We can replace the cabin filter and clean the system so the air coming through the vents is fresh again.
Do you check the engine cooling system as well as the air con?
Yes. We inspect the radiator, hoses, water pump, thermostat and coolant condition, because an overheating engine and a struggling air conditioner often share the same root cause in summer.
